Review:
I have not been much of a fan of The Rock. My love for professional wrestling tapered off around the time I was about 15 years old, and that was before Rocks heydey. His films (I've seen) is marginal at best in my opinion. But for a man to act in the field to capitalize on the popularity and won an Academy Award was introduced, it has much of the Scorpion King. What I like about the Snitch is anti-action movie. I hope the terrible films like Last Stand starring Ah-Nold Schwarzenegger. I hope the car is manufactured chase and shootout with the bad guys had to shoot empty because they can not afford to shoot a good man, even when they have a clear picture. I hope the scene where The Rock would beat the 10 people who turns on him not only jump to take. But different Snitch. It is a long story of a father helping his son. I do not want to give any spoilers, but it goes very far. The Rock - he is credited as Dwayne Johnson (I think as viewers take the movie seriously) is very credible and did themselves proud with some good acting consistently. He showed no fear and vulnerability of a father who puts his life on the line, his son, who after committing crimes committed stupid to save. But the actor who steals the film, John Bernthal, who is an ex-convict trying to play an honest living, but was dragged to the dark side in order to The Rock, who he worked for development to help. Michael Kenneth Williams will forever be known as Omar and typecast, but not a good turn as a drug dealer. The other supporting players, including Susan Sarandon as district attorney, is very good. Snitch moves at a deliberate pace, which gives more of a natural feel and authentic. Few action sequences were good and not too excessive. I'll take the risk and say that this movie will not be nominated for best film, but compared to the junk I've seen so far this year (including the latest Die Hard), I suggest Snitch.
